After spending more time in the kitchen I have learned I couldn't live without certain tools. I mean I could definitely live without them lol but I wouldn't want to!
So here are my 3 go to tools!
1. Garlic press - I know they sell already minced garlic but it just isn't the same to me. I absolutely love fresh garlic and use it literally every day in some kind of meal, if not all of them! My original garlic press was on the cheaper side because when I originally bought it I wasn't sure if I would use it enough, and honestly in the beginning I didn't! I recently upgraded to one that was a little more money and it is fantastic! I also buy the garlic peeled already and that saves some time as well!
2. Instant Pot - I know this is the trendy thing right now to have but I totally get why! This is the key tool to my meal prep success! My favorite uses is to make rice and hard boiled eggs. Its quick and easy and the prep is minimal which makes it even better. If you are going to get one I would recommend the 8qt over the 6qt, even if you have a small family. Batch cooking is another key to success when trying to eat healthy consistently. When you're making a healthy recipe go ahead and double it and freeze the extras for another night!
3. Zester -This is a strange one for sure lol I know I had 3 picks and I definitely would still pick a zester. I make all of my own dressings and marinades and they usually include lemons or limes so a zester is a must! I was always on the search for the best salad dressing. I wanted one with real ingredients and that isn't always easy to find so when I discovered making my own was so easy I stuck with it!

Do not punish yourself with exercise. When you get into that mindset you will start resenting working out because you will associate it with something negative rather than all the positive it brings.
I totally get not wanting to lose your progress but it is not going to happen with one meal or in one day or really one weekend!
If you can relate to this I want you to do this...
Each morning when you get up be intentional about how you will show up that day. Will you do your workout? Will you focus on your nutrition? Will you go to the party and have one margarita and then seltzer? Pick your one way to show up and stick to it and let the rest happen. Remember this is for a day, not every single day. One day letting yourself eat outside your plan is going to be ok!
