Worried about your lunch staying fresh all week? You aren't alone, this is actually one of the biggest worries people have when we talk about meal preps! I totally understand this one but there are ways to make sure it stays fresh! In this post I will teach you 3 of my go to tips to making sure your mason jar salads stay fresh all week!
1. Keeping the lettuce dry! After washing your lettuce use a salad spinner to get off extra water. Even after that I lay the lettuce out and let it dry completely before putting it in the mason jar!
2. Keep any liquids out of the salad. This includes dressing. I see tons of recipes online saying to put the dressing on the bottom and then put hard veggies on top. While this isn't a bad tip it will not help your salads stay fresh all week. Any extra moisture will cause the lettuce to wilt and get gross! This also goes for anything that has higher moisture, like fresh mozzarella for example!
3. Anything you are cooking before adding to your salad needs to be completely cooled. This may be chicken or roasted veggies, literally anything that is hot haha. Let it cool and then add it to the jar. Remember we want to avoid any extra moisture in the jar to help keep it fresh for the week!

Do not punish yourself with exercise. When you get into that mindset you will start resenting working out because you will associate it with something negative rather than all the positive it brings.
I totally get not wanting to lose your progress but it is not going to happen with one meal or in one day or really one weekend!
If you can relate to this I want you to do this...
Each morning when you get up be intentional about how you will show up that day. Will you do your workout? Will you focus on your nutrition? Will you go to the party and have one margarita and then seltzer? Pick your one way to show up and stick to it and let the rest happen. Remember this is for a day, not every single day. One day letting yourself eat outside your plan is going to be ok!
